about

The Jars helped spearhead the original Berkeley Punk/New Wave scene, combining garage, kraut-rock and other wide influences with new wave and punk to create their own brand of “Avant-Garage Psycho-Pop.” Between 1979 and 1982 the Jars played all over the Bay Area with Roky Erickson, The Dickies, The Dead Kennedys, The Flamin’ Groovies and many more. This album combines tracks from the Jars singles, along with previously unheard studio recordings and live tracks.
